Obese kids in Europe: Hungary is at the top of the list
Parents should watch out for the lifestyle and prevent the illnesses of their children.
The first thousand days of a child’s life determine their later health and eligibility for a complete life, reports Szeretlek Magyarország.
Certain genetic information is determined at birth, but environmental factors can largely transform them.
Genomes define body shape and metabolism, but microbiome, the ecological system formed by microorganisms living in the human body, influences the expression of the genetic code to a great extent.
Early overeating and upbringing in an overly sterile environment reprogram the system and create an unfavourable adaptation. The child becomes more prone to diabetes, for example, as well as obesity and certain infectious diseases.
That is why it is beneficial to ask for our doctor’s opinion in favour of our children’s future.
The prevention program of the Czeizel Institute is a pioneer in the exploration, prevention, and treatment of chronical conditions. Nutritionist and paediatrician Dr Zsuzsanna Almássy, who has decades of professional experience and excellent clinical results, is the head of the illness prevention program of the institute and awaits families with a history of obesity and weight problems in previous generations. If prevention starts at the right time, most illnesses with a genetic code can be avoided.
Nowadays, every fourth student is overweight or obese, which can cause diabetes, high blood pressure, fatty liver, and cardiovascular diseases. Hungary is at the top of the list in Europe.
The individual and societal consequences of this are inestimable. We do not have the proper body and health awareness, even though it should begin early. At this stage, children can be examined and are recommended suitable programs, whether with the help of physiotherapists, nutritionists, or lifestyle counsellors. As a nutritionist, she deals with illnesses already developed or even prediabetes conditions like insulin resistance or various sugar metabolism disorders.
The human body is more exposed to environmental factors and infections in the autumn and winter as the weather changes and vitamin storages are empty. We are more likely to catch upper respiratory infections, to which small children are more prone.
A lot can be prevented with appropriate and diverse nutrition, vitamin intake, lots of exercise, and wearing proper attire.
